Wow, we’ve had pizza in Napoli, and this was just as amazing as the pizza motherland! Had the margarita burrata and panzanilla salad, both amazing! We were sad this was our last night in Tulum, we will have to wait until our next trip to enjoy! Thanks for the great hospitality and service, good tunes and awesome food! 10/10 from this 1/2 Italian!

Best pizza in Tulum Beach thus far! Even my boyfriend who is a pizza snob loved each dish we chose from here. Service was speedy, polite. We ordered the crisp savory tart with prosciutto and burrata and the Torino Pizza. Both were delicious and exceeded expectations. The pizza crust, made with their sourdough was the best we’ve ever had! Ambiance at Checkpoint Ciao was relaxed, inviting, low lit, yet upbeat. Overall excellent experience. We ended up here because we were turned away (quite rudely) from Bagatelle. This was a lovely alternative to find. Won’t ever make it to Bagatelle while this place is in business. Checkpoint Ciao was full while Bagatelle was empty. If you’re looking for good pizza, go to Checkpoint Ciao, skip Bagatelle.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring the area around our hotel, and it was a fantastic surprise. The place is small but has a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel welcome. The food is simply outstanding. I come from a big city, and no Italian restaurant I’ve tried so far comes close to the flavor and quality we found here. The pizza and salad were absolutely delicious. We only had the chance to visit once during our stay, but we’ll definitely return to Tulum just for this place.

Sourdough pizza for the win. So good. We had a Hugo ( st Germaine spritz), panzanella, marghuerrita pizza, and gelato. Everything was delicious. Amazing service, ac or sit in the cute patio with candles. Saw couples on a date night outside. Good food and good vibes. Must check it out when you’re in the area.

Just arrived in Tulum today and I was craving a pizza, this wasn’t just any pizza but possibly the best I’ve ever eaten. The burrata and tomato salad with warm ciabatta bread was insanely good as a starter but then came the pizza.... It was perfect in every way. Top tip: I saved some of the tomatoes from my starter to add to the pizza and it turned out to be a great addition. Somehow I made space for the pistachio tiramisu and oh boy I’m glad I did, it was next level. I’ve visited and eaten in Italy many, many times....this meal was as good, if not better, than anything I’ve eaten there. Excellent service throughout and I will definitely be back before I leave Tulum. (I’d give this place 6 stars if it was possible)

Checkpoint Ciao is a cozy yet elevated spot serving wood-fired pizza and handmade pasta. The staff are genuinely warm, making the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. With a breezy, candlelit vibe and food that speaks for itself—don’t miss the ravioli—it’s an ideal pause between beach and bike.

Checkpoint Ciao is my favorite place in Tulum (and possibly anywhere outside of Italy) for Italian food. Everything is very fresh. The pizza is outstanding but really the whole menu is phenomenal. Try the pistachio tiramisu. It really is the best!

Yum! We came here last time in Tulum & couldn’t wait to return. The people at next table had eaten here last night & again today. Great pizza, nice salad, delish light focaccia, friendly service & cute space. Recommend!
